Last week of the transfer! Transfers are super unpredictable, Sister Torrez has 5 months here, and I have 4, as does the other Elder in our area. So basically nobody has any clue what will happen Tuesday. Its really odd not knowing where you will be, and who you will be with next week. But we are trying to make the best out of the time we know we have!
We had another Zone Meeting this week, we sure have a lot of them, but I love traveling to Divinopolis and our Zone Leaders are ridiculously animated(as you can see in this picture of my cute zone) which always pumps us up. The sister training leaders also came to make divisions with us, which was a great experience. Its a real blessing having such great examples! In our zone meeting we studied the missionary examples of Christ and Ammon and the sons of Mosiah and how we can apply what and how they completed their missions in our lives.
I am learning a lot about the power of an example. The examples I have in my leaders, my mission president, companion, the scriptures and ultimately Christ. We also never know who we are an example for, who is watching us. I have met some amazing people here, Daniella and Deborah were amazing examples to be of how to be happy no matter what is happening, and how much prettier you are when you smile. Luis, truly is "an example of the believers", the only active member in his family, who at 16 is focused on helping the missionaries, preparing for his mission and staying firm in the church. He has stayed home from many many family trips to their cabin to go to church. My mission president and his wife are the greatest examples of sincerity and genuinity I have ever known. After only a few minutes with them is easy to build a firm trust and respect for everything they say. They are very dignified and loving. And ultimately, Christ. Who is an example to everyone. We use his example a lot here with the Catholics, he was 30, baptized by a prophet by immersion, but in addition, in everything he did. His manner of living, teaching, and how he restored the gospel is a perfect problem solving model. I am grateful for such great examples in my life!
As for investigators, we keep finding perfect people, and then something happens, they talk to a friend, they go on vacation, or have an enormous addiction problem. Our city is full of drugs and alcohol, one time an old man asked if we had any quick fix to make him happy and made a smoking motion, I said no, but thought in my head, we have Christ!! It was a funny moment, that somebody was asking two sister missionaries for pot, but it was a good moment to remember of the lasting joy and happiness we get from the gospel.
We reactivated two young men who are now preparing to serve missions and were called as ward missionaries! So thats exciting!
As for the rest, we are using every ounce of our strength, sometimes enduring to the end in the heat here, and the hills and the uneven roads but loving every minute and learning even more!
