Well we wrapped up another transfer! I certainly dont believe it. We worked really hard and have learned a lot together, we have essentially the same amount of time on the mission, the same amount of portuguese and we opened an area, its been an adventure!
We had a bit of a hard week, it rained a lot, and I fell on that ridiculous street I mentioned last week(to my own embarassment) and ripped up my knee pretty good..our mission tour with an area 70 was postponed for another month, and the Area President sent the missionaries this mysterious list of people on Thursday that all had to be visited by Saturday, which made visiting our investigators more difficult. Luckily we only had 4, some missionaries had 20 but two of ours lived 30km away. But its called Paraíso which translates to Paradise, it was beautiful.
But, amid it all we had some great experiences! I got to cut sugar cane! And eat it of course! Its dang delicious and its something you definitely can only do here in Brasil! We had some amazing experiences following the spirit and meeting people on the street that can only be attributed to being in the right place at the right time.
We helped Claudinei take the first steps to overcome his addiction, which has plagued him for years and years. We had no idea how strong it was but last thursday night we decided to take action. So, we had him gather all of the horrid things in a bag, we went out into the street, and had him break the DVDs into pieces, and then we threw the rest of it deep into a dumpster full of bricks. We all felt a new level of peace in his home after that, and I learned a new meaning to the phrase "shake of the chains of sin".
Change of course is very difficult, but with God everything is possible!
There is lots to be done, the river doesnt stop running.
I am absolutely stoked for General Conference, prayin for the announcement of Temple Brasil Belo Horizonte! There is lots that will happen this next transfer.
Tchau!!
