Monday night after practicing music all day Sister Fairbanks and I returned to BH with Meire, Moroni and Meire's friend from the ward and we had another family home evening with President and Sister Fortunato. And it was amazing. Sister Fortunato gave a message on hope, and President told a few stories and testified to what she said and well, lets just say that everybody cried. For the "snack" they ordered pizza and Sister Fortunato set her huge beautiful glass table perfectly for everybody to enjoy the pizza and the desserts she made. During our, well, dinner, President conversed with Meire and committed her after lots of poweful invitations to come to church Sunday with Sister Fortunato promising to personally go and get her! And guess what happened this Sunday-MEIRE CAME TO CHURCH!
After three months, with lots of prayer and lots of divine help(and help from our amazing President) she came back and now she never wants to leave again. We are going to baptize Moroni! Every missionary's dream right? President visited our district meeting and bore his testimony of his side of the story and talked about the importance of reactivation and how it bears so many fruits. Its been an amazing experience working with them, I see so many similarities in her family and mine which has made the whole ordeal really powerful.
In other news we had a little difficulty finding new investigators, ate mesmo Saturday we were sitting in a lesson, I was super discouraged with what we had/hadnt done and thinking man, we need to repent. I said a little prayer that like it says in Preach my Gospel the people ready to hear the gospel would come to us or we would be led to them. We left that lesson, we put up our heads a little higher using the hope we learned about Monday night and a man ran up to us saying hey can you teach me family and bring the to your church?
If you havent yet learned, the church is true. And even when we dont deserve it, arent exactly doing what we should, when we are weak, or unbelieving God answers our small little prayers because if not to anybody else, we are important to him.
So we went with Evandro, and we taught his family-wife and two teenage daughters who all accepted and came to church yesterday.
Somehow things always turn out right. Its so true that it matters so much less what we already have done but where we are willing to go.
There sure is a lot to be done.
I received my flight to go home today-I DONT UNDERSTAND THE PASSAGE OF TIME but now I am determined more than ever to make the most of my last weeks, so get ready for some epic stories!
Until we meet again,Sister Holmes(sorry you have to wait again for pictures)
