So once upon a time in a beautiful jungle mountain land there was a game that all the people loved to play, they would find a ball of any sort and find any open space and spend the day away kicking around the ball and occasionally aiming it into a large net on the ends of the grass. Then, one day the best players of this happy game came together from all around the world to the beautiful jungle mountain land to compete together and INSANITY ENSUED.
Being in the country of the World Cup is CRAZY. Every street here is painted, banners, papers, flyers, flags the country is literally bleeding blue, yellow and green. Soccer is LIFE here. During the games that Brasil plays in we as missionaries arent allowed to leave the house, and the whole city shuts down so everybody can drink and watch the game. But while in our house reading and studying there is no doubt when Brasil makes a goal because the earth quakes of thunderous screams and war cries.
I only pray that America wont ever play Brasil, because my blond hair and blue eyes just arent on my side this time of year.
In other news we had an amazing week! Sister Miller and I are staying here in Ipatinga for a fourth transfer together! We will have a third of our misison together!! We decided that we really wanted to progress and as our Zone Leader always says do things that have never been done before. At our zone meeting last week he invited everybody to think out of the box and remember who we are and just baptize. If they breathe, baptize! The zone's goal is 100 baptisms for the month and 300 street contacts a week, and we are on our way! Sister Miller and I worked really hard this week and increased our amount of lessons, more than doubled our amount of new investigators and brought some amazing people to church! Its truly just a blessing to be in Ipatinga right now!
Here is one of my favorite families in the ward, the cute kids we baptized and one of the cool streets celebrating Brasil!
