So, after a month of having lots of difficulty we had a very very successful week. I learned a lot this month about trials and how a lot of the time God just wants to test us-to see whats in our heart. So Sister Fairbanks and I kept going strong even without much result and BAM. Epic week. To start off I finished the Old Testament this week, which in my opinion is a great accomplishment, I am excited to be in the New Testament now, and I have plans to finish the Bible before coming home. When I finish the Bible I will have finished reading all of the standard works! My love for the scriptures has greatly increased, and the habits we build on the mission are so important and worthwhile. Tuesday we decided to explore a new neighborhood we had never been to which was SUPER nice. Enormous houses, super modern and different and well, we enjoyed our selves. We didn't find any of the street contacts, so we decided to leave. That night Sister Fairbanks found a media reference on one of the streets we had been on so we happily went back the next day. The media reference wasn't home, but as we were leaving I felt like there was somebody on that street that we needed to find, and Sister Fairbanks had the same thought. So we turned around and found a house with the garage door open. Usually its difficult to enter into the bigger houses since everybody has an intercom but we met Livia and taught her and her son who accepted everything. They are super neat people, who have traveled the whole world and loved the message of the restoration. However they were just visiting for Christmas and live in the assistants area, so we passed them to the elders, but it was a really neat experience to feel strongly that there was somebody on that street and then to find them. Christmas was great we ate lunch with Dil and taught her about Christmas since she spent most of her life as a Jehovah's Witness. We had a lovely lunch, gave presents, ate apple pie and read the first chapters of Lucas. We called home and visit Jesus! On Christmas! Okay, his name never really gets old. He was having a hard time being away from Peru on Christmas. Saturday we went out with Lindoval our EPIC recent convert. He has been baptized for a month and teaches like a returned missionary. He teaches with power using questions and scriptures and personal stories and testimony and at the end of the night he brought us to his friends house. He basically left the message and brought the whole family to church yesterday! Talk about member missionaries. So after a rough month we ended the transfer and month and mission of Sister Fairbanks with ten new investigators and ten investigators at church! The blessings come AFTER all we can do. There were days this month walking miles and miles and miles and miles in the 100 degree sun wondering if I would even make it one more day and we always do! So Sister Fairbanks went home this morning with Sister Miller and Sister Fjord and I got my new companion Sister Cardoso from Sao Paulo! Happy New Year! Send some snow, its REALLY hot,
