The madness never stops!! When I come home I think I literally will just collapse in the snow.
So. Like I mentioned last week Sister Fairbanks went home and I have Sister Cardoso. She is super awesome! Monday night, because of increasing difficulties and situations becoming dangerous with a certain recent convert of the other sisters, President took them out for a little while. So now we have to take care of the entire ward. Our area doubled. Overwhelming at first, its been an adventure and we have met a lot of cool people! We taught Ryan, but a few days before his baptism Saturday the Stake President changes the ward boundaries and so the Zone Leaders baptized him in their ward. But it was fun to be a part of the process!
We have seen lots of miracles. Antonio, a super fancy intelligent politician investigator who has been coming to church for the last few months with his wife made the goal in 2015 to be baptized! We went to mark a day to visit with him and he said, so I am planning on being baptized this Friday, can you guys come teach me the rest of the commandments this week? (there was a short pause of silence because our mouths gaped open) but once we got control again we happily agreed and are super excited for the baptism! I am going to sing with Michel on guitar. I am really going to miss singing with that kid. He is a super prodigy and musical number make baptisms super cool.
We went on exchanges with the sisters in Aeroporto and I went out with Sister Ostler, a super cute missionary from Virginia. She went to hair school after high school until her mission, and is very excited and full of energy! This week will complete her first transfer in the field. It was fun going out with her and remembering my first transfer...all the embarrassing moments, the times I didnt understand anything and had no clue what was ahead of me and thinking now how far I have come and all the people I have met and not even being able to speak english anymore. I think one of the best parts of Gods plan for us is that progression is such a large factor.
Beyond exchanges and running around town trying to visit everybody in the ridiculous heat we are working hard and are excited for this month to be super epic. My last transfer will officially start Wednesday. I am 99% sure I will stay here in Alvorada with Sister Cardoso considering I am the only one who knows the area and she just was called to be a training leader..but we all know that transfers are crazy and anything can happen. Next week I will know for sure where I will end my mission. If I stay here I will only have 3 areas.
Its really crazy to think that I spent ALL of 2014 on the mission and its already 2015 and I am already old in the mission and on my way out. But. We are going to work hard and its going to be awesome!
So, feliz ano novo!Sister Holmes
