Well, I am just going to start off by saying that THE CHURCH IS TRUE.
So once upon a time, we had a lovely p-day, a nice Tuesday, visiting with Leticia and our investigators and Wednesday we went on exchanges with our favorite training leaders that live in our area. While studying Wednesday morning Sister Santiago calls me saying that her and Elder Santiago visited with Andre and Cleusa Tuesday night, that they read some scriptures and talked a little and Andre accepted to be baptized and his baptism and interview were marked for this Saturday! After about 5 minutes of silence because my mouth was gaping open I thanked them for their amazing work and hurried to call Sister Miller and my district leader. We left Andre last week thinking he just would need lots more time and church attendance, there was some missing factor because he was so ready and then BAM, the Senior Missionary couple comes in and saves the day.
Andre was baptized Saturday and it was an amazing baptism, Elder Santiago baptized him and the district president spoke about his conversion, Sister Miller and I sang and the Santiagos brought a delicious cake for all the share!
It just goes to show that after all we can do, if we just have enough faith God. Does. The. Rest. He answers prayers through others.
We are working a lot more with members, teaching with them and helping the recent converts and investigators feel more integrated into the branch.
We are all anxiously awaiting the approval of the stake, we hear about it from our leaders constantly that it is closer than we can think and we must be preparing for the Stake Opening Conference to be any day. (hopefully when I am still here!) President Fortunato called to say that we are experiencing a miraculous time here in Ipatinga miracles are happening and lifes are being changed, but in this critical time close to the opening of a stake Satan is working his hardest to make sure it doesnt happen. This last two weeks there have been unexpected tragedies in the district. He said we are officially are in war, so fight on. A little intimidating to hear, but I know we are fighting on the winning side and our new stake is just around the corner! One of the only open land lots left here in Bethânia has never been for rent or for sale, and it just recently opened up to be purchased. It is in an amazing location and is beautiful land, and the fact that it is now available to buy the same time that we are looking to buy land to construct a chapel is no coincidence.
To infinity and beyond!
